Home, safe to spend and forecasts
What the Home tab shows, how safe to spend is worked out, and how predictions look ahead.
The Home tab
Home greets you and shows your money at a glance. These cards can appear, top to bottom:

| Safe to spend / mo | What's left each month after bills, your usual spending and goal contributions. |
| Predictions | Expected income and spending over the next hour, day, week, month, year and 2 years. |
| Spending by category | Where your money went in the last 30 days. |
| Budget status | Your first five budgets and how full they are. |
| Goal progress | How close each goal is. |
| Upcoming bills | Your next six bills: due today, tomorrow, in a few days, or overdue. |
At the bottom, See reports opens Reports.
How safe to spend works
Safe to spend answers one question: after the month's commitments, how much is really free?
Safe to spend = predicted monthly income − predicted monthly spending − goal contributions
- Predicted income and predicted spending come from your active bills and income plus your recent one-off transactions (see Predictions).
- Goal contributions is the total of every goal's monthly contribution.
The coloured bar shows how the three compare, with the figures listed underneath.
Safe to spend gets more accurate as Trinance learns your patterns. Add your bills and income on the Plan tab, and log a few weeks of spending, for the best results.
Predictions
Predictions look ahead using two things:
- Your active bills and income, at their amounts and frequencies. Paused items are left out.
- Your one-off transactions from the last six months. Recent activity counts more than older activity, and Trinance notices which days of the week you tend to spend more.
It's an estimate based on your own history, not a promise, but it's a useful sense of where things are heading.
Customize Home
Tap Customize at the top of Home to show or hide: Summary tiles, Net worth trend, Prediction strips, Spending by category, Budget status, Goal progress and Upcoming bills.
Your choices are saved with the profile, so Trinance for Windows shows the same cards if you move the profile across.
On your Home Screen
Net worth, safe to spend and your next bill are also available as a widget.
