Backups and export
Keep a copy of a profile, or take your data to a spreadsheet.
Your data lives on your iPhone. These options in More → Settings → Your data let you keep a copy or take it elsewhere. Each one saves a file through the share sheet, so you can save it to Files or iCloud Drive, AirDrop it or email it.
Back up this profile (.db)
Makes a complete copy of the open profile, named like finance-backup-2026-10-02.db. It includes everything in the profile, and Trinance for Windows can open it.
Export as JSON
Exports the open profile as a .json file (named like finance-export-2026-10-02.json) for spreadsheets or other tools. It's one-way: Trinance can't import it back.
Restoring
Trinance for iPhone imports profiles from .halcyon files made by Trinance for Windows (see Moving from Windows). It can't restore a .db backup or a JSON export on iPhone.
Keep your files safe
Backups and exports aren't password protected. Anyone who has the file can read your finances, so store it somewhere private and delete copies you no longer need.
What isn't included
Your Trinance account sign-in isn't part of any backup or export. Your plan and linked banks belong to your account, so they come back when you sign in.
