Getting started
Create your first profile, find your way around the five tabs, and get your numbers in.
Your first launch
The first time you open Trinance you'll see Welcome to Trinance, with two choices:
- Create a profile to start fresh.
- Import from Trinance on your PC if you already use Trinance for Windows. See Moving from Windows.
You don't need an account or an email address to use Trinance. Everything you enter stays on your iPhone.
Create a profile
A profile holds one set of finances: its own accounts, transactions, bills, budgets and goals. You can have up to three, for example one for you and one for a household.
- Give it a Name, such as Personal. Names can be up to 24 characters.
- Pick an Icon and a Colour.
- Under Security, turn on Passcode if you want the profile locked, then Use Face ID. You can do this later too.
- Tap Create. The profile opens straight away.

The five tabs
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Home | Your money at a glance: net worth, safe to spend, predictions, budgets, goals and upcoming bills. See Home, safe to spend and forecasts. |
| Activity | Every transaction, newest first, with search, filters and CSV import. See Transactions. |
| Accounts | What you own and what you owe, plus bank sync. See Accounts. |
| Plan | Budgets, Goals, Bills and Income. See Budgets, Goals and Bills and paychecks. |
| More | Your profile, your Trinance account, the Assistant, News, Markets, Reports, Tools, Settings and Help & feedback. |
What's in More
- Your profile at the top, with Edit, Switch profile and, if the profile has a passcode, Lock now.
- Online: Trinance account, Assistant, News and Markets. A badge on the More tab counts unread News.
- Reports, Tools, Settings and Help & feedback.
- About: the app version, the publisher (Devpire), and links to the privacy policy and support.
Get your numbers in
A new profile shows a Let's get you set up card on Home with three steps. A good order is:
- Add your accounts on the Accounts tab, with today's balances. See Accounts.
- Add your bills and income on Plan → Bills and Plan → Income, so Trinance can look ahead. See Bills and paychecks.
- Log transactions as you go, or bring in history from a bank statement with Import CSV.
- Set budgets and goals on the Plan tab when you're ready.
Tip: with Trinance Pro or Premium you can link your banks instead, and accounts, balances and transactions arrive by themselves.
