Privacy and security
What stays on your iPhone, what goes online and why, and how Trinance keeps it safe.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you track is stored on your iPhone: accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, bills, goals, notes and custom fields. We don't receive or store it. Your passcode and Face ID are checked on your iPhone too. You can use Trinance without an account at all.
What goes online, and why
Trinance goes online only for the features below. Settings lists them too, under Your data.
| Feature | What's sent |
|---|---|
| Trinance account | Your email, to send sign-in codes. A device name, so you can see where you're signed in. |
| Bank sync | You sign in to your bank through Plaid. Our server fetches your transactions from Plaid and passes them straight to your iPhone, without keeping a copy. |
| AI | Only when you use it: your question with a summary of your numbers, sent through Devpire's server to Google's Gemini. Not stored. |
| Markets and currency rates | Requests for public prices and headlines. None of your financial data. |
| News | A request for Trinance news from Devpire's server. |
| Help & feedback | Only what you send, plus technical details if you leave them on. The app shows you exactly what's included. |
What our servers keep
If you sign in to a Trinance account: your email, your signed-in devices, your plan, and for linked banks, the bank's name and an encrypted access key from Plaid. Like any website, our servers and our network provider also keep short-lived technical logs to keep things secure. The privacy policy has the details.
